Our Mission: ScholarCHIPS provides college scholarships, mentoring and a peer support network to children of incarcerated parents, inspiring them to complete their college education.

Applicant Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a graduating high school senior with plans to pursue higher education (including an accredited four-year college or university, community college, technical or vocational school)

Must be affected by having an incarcerated parent(s) or an immediate family member in prison who has served as the applicant’s caregiver

Must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.0

Must live in one of the following jurisdictions in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area:
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA – Washington, DC
MARYLAND – Prince George’s County or Montgomery County
VIRGINIA – Arlington County, the City of Alexandria, Fairfax County or the City of Falls Church

Must intend to be enrolled at least half-time in college

May be living on his or her own and/or have children of his or her own
